The 2009 PAA Presidential Paddle
to benefit the
PAA Endowment Fund
Wednesday August 12, 2009
The Canoe was officially named one of the "7 Wonders of Canada" in 2008 http://www.cbc.ca/sevenwonders/wonder_canoe.html, so what better way to make PAA President, Dr. Chuck Brown, feel welcome here in Canada than a "Presidential Paddle" to the Barbeque on Wednesday night, August 12, 2009?
In fact, there is a strong tradition of presidents and canoes here in Canada. Check out this 1907 photo of US President FDR paddling his Canadian-made birch bark canoe in waters just 100 miles away from where our event will be staged.

You can be part of his historic voyage, Chuck's not FDR's, by placing your money on exactly what time our President arrives at the docks of the Riverside Resort where we will be having our Barbeque.
Time blocks in minutes (excluding the hour) will be divided up into 15 second intervals and the person closest to the landing time will claim not only the fame, but also 10 percent of the total amount wagered. The remaining funds will be donated to the PAA Endowment Fund. Time blocks and $5 contributions may be traded at the Registration Desk and at the Riverside Resort at the start of the barbeque. Remember, all PAA Endowment Fund contributions are US tax deductible.
Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's Dino KubiK, www.MaliseetTrail.com has agreed to escort President Brown and will do his best to avoid the particular section of the River seen below, or at least keep the canoe going straight this time.
